George's Auntie Rupert


However awful Murdoch may be, how is he worse than the BBC? How is he even any different? For 20 years now, they have both given enthusiastic support to exactly the same politicians.

When the three most prominent political forces in Britain are the post-Thatcherite Right, the Labour Left and its allies beyond the Labour Party, and the SNP, then the BBC is in serious trouble.

Good.

It has needed a rocket up it for a very long time.
