Task? Force?

A number of my relatives, and other longstanding associates of my family, live on the Falkland Islands.

Could we recapture those Islands now? Probably not.

The blame for that attaches to the same people who are to blame for the fact that we might ever need to, rather than having defended the Falklands properly in the first place.

But then, their great heroine never defended the Falklands properly in the first place, either.

  1. Come to this, has it, Labour the party that spends more on "defence" and keeping the last outposts of the Empire? No surprise to people who remember the Labour right wing before Blair.

  2. It would be hilarious if Labour cut defence less than the Tories-Labour opposed rearmament even in the run up to World War Two, and 32 Labour MPs, to their eternal disgrace, voted against Thatcher's recapture of the Falklands.

Under the last Government, Labour cut our defences to shreds, scrapping almost every project the Tories had left in Brown's Straregic Defence Review.

They preferred to spend the money on welfare.

And creating 700,000 totally pointless public sector jobs for their voters.

    1. Illiterate.

And tragic, in one so young. The sort of boy in a wing collar and a monocle who is the youngest person by 50 or 60 years at any Tory or UKIP event.
