Of Plymouth Plantation, Indeed

As Michelle Obama tucks into the turkey and the pumpkin pie, does she think, "My ancestors came to this country for the freedom"?

But spare a thought for all those Americans who now have to work on Thanksgiving. On this among so very many other issues, Pat Buchanan should have been a Democrat. And the Democratic Party awaits its Pat Buchanan.

  1. Your obviously joking.

Pat Buchanan is pro-marriage, pro-life and anti-war, which means the Democrats despise him.

Only the Republicans have had a pro-life and anti-war leadership candidate in the last four years-and they have the finest anti-war tradition in America, going back to the days of Woodrow Wilson's liberal wars, and beyond.

Pat Buchanan's latest book warns that Obama's mass third-world immigration will lead to permanent Big Government-and a permanent, anti-liberty Democratic one-party state.

A man who is both against authoritarian Big Government, pro-liberty and anti- immigration ( positions that are inextricably linked, as Ed West explains in his book) is not welcome in the party of mass immigration, mandatory contraception, Obamacare and Planned Parenthood.

  2. Further to my last comment.

"Pat Buchanan should have been a Democrat"

That is the funniest joke I've heard in at least the last week.

You "should have been" a comic.

  3. In addition to having more and more people work on Thanksgiving, we follow that holiday up with "Black Friday," where every year Americans beat, trample, or shoot each other to get the best deals on junk made by poorly- paid workers in the Third World.

Who? Ron Paul? An interesting phenomenon, but that is all. Not even allowed to address the Convention. His name never placed in nomination.

There you go again with your strange fantasy that the black Americans are recent immigrants. And a socially conservative party would clean up among them and the Hispanics. It says it all that the GOP doesn't.

Pat Buchanan, now 75, will die having endorsed a Democratic Presidential nominee at least once. You read it here first.

  5. I didn't say a socially Conservative party would "clean up among them and the Hispanics"-I said the opposite.

Both the blacks and Hispanics have become far more socially liberal, and thus dependent on Big Government (I.e the Democrats); the rate of illegitimacy among blacks has soared to 71%, and among Hispanics it is 51% and rising.

As whites become socially liberal they are also turning Democrat; while most married women still vote Republican TWO THIRDS of unmarried women (a quarter of the electorate and rising) vote Democrat.

It's the collapse of marriage that will lead to permanent Big Government.

As Buckley used to predict back in the 50's.
